Daily needs and childhood experiences, having been shaped by life in a village house, have critically formed the present attitude. Lost memories, current events, and the call to return home—both internal and external—are given refuge in the paintings. A goat, a recurring character in the artwork, is represented both literally and metaphorically. Resilience, familiarity, and personal attachments between humans and animals in rural life are embodied by it. Change is observed mutely by the goat at times, while at others, displacement, nostalgia, and the instability of memory are symbolized by it. The representation of a postbox or mailbox has been taken up with interest—an object that is both ubiquitous and intensely private, by which the boundary between communication, waiting, and time is marked. Words, emotions, reminiscences, and unspoken stories are contained in a letter. Fragments of oneself are exchanged across distances, whether physical or emotional, through the act of sending and receiving letters.
The Bengali word 'ডাক' (Dak) resonates deeply within his creative spirit, embodying both the tangible postal service and the intangible call. He explores the narratives that individuals, environments, and built spaces maintain. Some narratives are known and passed down, while others remain hidden, like unmailed letters or forgotten echoes. Through his paintings, he bridges the gap between memory and reality, spoken and unspoken words. The postbox becomes a birthplace of yearning, the billygoat a chronicler of moments, and the Vietnamese 'ডাক' a vessel for his verbal secrets. His art documents ephemeral bonds, navigating the pull of nostalgia, nature, and his connection to the hearth.
