Owanka prefers to execute her thoughts into work using ceramic as an expressive medium. Completed her MFA & BFA in Ceramic Art from Government College of Art & Craft(Calcutta) in 2018. In 2012 when she was introduced with clay as medium of expression, she was first associated with ideas and representative images that serve a thoughtful questions to the viewers. But as the days rolled over she started enjoying the medium and her point of research starts changing, prioritising clay as medium . She found out though Ceramic is very delicate it has an intresting character of being fragile as a wing of butterfly at first but hard as stone at the end of the process. Also there is some more aspects which excites her, like textures, 3D playfulness, lights and shades etc. She enjoys playing with a lump of clay and transforming it into a new object with or without any definite reason. A kind of automatism helps to create a space that represents rhythmic dynamism. She duel with basic introspective thoughts while working from which she create her visionary interpretation through her work. Most importantly the understanding of the artist about her surrounding environment has been reflected through her three dimensional executions.
